Abstract
Substance abuse is one of the health challenging problems across the world especially with the adolescents. This study sought to determine the causes, consequences and counselling strategies that could be used to reduce this pandemic. The descriptive survey was adopted for this study .Three research questions guided the study. The population of the study comprised all the 103 school counsellors in Anambra state (P.P.S.S.C. Awka, 2021). Since population is few, there is no need for sampling. The researchers used structured ‘’Causes, Consequences and Counselling Strategies in Reducing Adolescent Substance Abuse Questionnaire’’ (CCCSRASAQ).The reliability co-efficient were established by subjecting the instrument to trial test while their internal consistency was determined using Cronbach alpha. The reliability co efficient was 0.74. Face to face method of administration was employed. Response to these questions was analyzed using mean scores. Findings include that cultural influences, peer pressure, curiosity, thirst for new experience, permissive parenting style, and seeking revenge especially cult groups were the causes of adolescent substance abuse and the consequences of substance abuse include poor academic achievement, road accident, poor relationship, risky behaviours among others. While counselling strategies are dissemination of information about the effects of these substances and introduction of drug education amongst others. Based on the findings, recommendations were made among which are introduction of drug education to create awareness for the students and government should step up law enforcement strategies to reduce substance abuse such as policy on substance abuse.

Abstract
It has been said that education is the best legacy; if you say education is expensive, try ignorance.Education, therefore, is the most important factor in the development of moral values and social practices. It also gives one a verge towards becoming a successful person, to be useful to oneself and to society atlarge. It is not only restricted to pursuing a degree for economic gain, rather attaining moral values and respect which will serve as guidelines to people and learn from the person. This study therefore, examined the statistically significant differences between gender and level of study of students towards their moral behavior among secondary school students in south-western part of Nigeria. Two research questions and hypotheses guided the study. The study employed descriptive survey design method. A sample of 365 secondary school students was drawn from the total population of 7011 through proportionate random sampling technique. The instrument used to obtain data was a self-developed questionnaire. Thus, the instrument was content validated by Subject Matter Experts (SME). The reliability coefficients of morality scale are.808 determined through Cronbach alpha technique for internal consistency. The findings of the study revealed that there were no significant differences between gender and level of study of respondents’ moral behavior. It was therefore, recommended based on the results of the study that moral education must be imparted to all the secondary school students to develop moral behavior. Curriculum wing of Ministry of Education must involve teachers to design a separate course of morals for secondary school students in Nigeria.

Abstract
The nutritional status of school-aged children impacts their health, cognition, and subsequently their educational achievement. The school is an opportune setting to provide health and nutrition services to disadvantaged children. Yet, school-aged children are not commonly included in health and nutrition surveys. Rising obesity rates among other nutritional problems, elevated food insecurity, and the growing recognition that nutrition is critical to the healthy development of young children are all raising awareness of the need to improve school children food and to educate children and families on the importance of healthy eating. Every child must be ensured the best start in life – their future, and indeed the future of their communities, nations as well as the whole world depends on it. Nutrition has been called the single greatest environmental influence on babies while in the womb, during infancy and it remains essential for them in the early years of life through the school age period. This paper discusses what constitute good nutrition and nutritional needs of school age children, nutritional problems of this age, factors contributing to school age nutritional problems and the way out of the problems among school age children.

ABSTRACT
Integration is the process of incorporating racially, economically, politically etc. into the normal stream. It may involve empowering victims of conflict or subcultural group that were segregated upon. The aim of the program is to resolve conflict through sustainable peace building .Successful peace building will require inclusion. This lead to the discussion of inclusive integration .This process requires that the victims of conflict are directly involved in the implementation of peace –building programs. This paper also discusses some of the strategies to be adopted toward a successful and sustainable peace –building process. It is understood that when victims are directly involved in finding solution to their problems (peace-building process), it clears away perceived fear, instead it built trust and honesty in the individuals or victims of conflict. However inclusive integration should follow an established rules and constitution of the country in collaboration with international stake holders’ civil societies worthy of note is that conflict is a relative term. It is not only limited to physical conflict ,or terrorism, but also include domestic ,office ,religious ,economic and psychological conflict which often times are by product of exclusion –It might also be caused by the political elites ,traditional authorities government authorities that were expected to be fully part of the peace building process but deviated due to their personal interest . We are in a generation where majority prefers self-righteous in the eyes of the few families or relations. A generation that celebrate selfishness, greed, pride and even the suffering of others in our society, we are prepared to lose one of eyes if it will go well with our personality not minding the majority that are suffering .For our selfish reasons we avoid reconciliation. We should have a generation of willing people that can give in their best, so that peace can reign in the society and that everyone is properly integrated to the normal life stream that can lead to equal distribution of resources through trust and love for one another.

Abstract
Of late, the credibility of the Nigerian educational system has steadily been declining at an alarming rate as a chunk of the products of her institutions of higher learning appears not to be able to compete with their counterparts from other parts of the globe. This calls for an appraisal of the human capital management approaches that are embedded within the shores of her academic institutions. As such, a descriptive study was carried out to appraise human capital management in the public colleges of education in North Central Nigeria. Two research questions guided the study, with two hypotheses raised and tested at P < 0.05 level of significance. A 66 item structured questionnaire titled “Appraisal of Human Capital Management Questionnaire (AHCMQ)” and an interview guide for human capital management comprising of 6 items were made on a sample of 572 respondents consisting of provosts, deputy provosts, registrars, deans of schools, heads of academic and non-academic departments of the institutions under study. The instruments were face validated by five experts and the internal consistency was determined using Cronbach’s alpha procedure, which yielded 0.82, 0.75, 0.88, 0.94, 0.95, 0.94, and 0.90 reliability indices respectively for the seven sections of items. Mean (X) and Standard Deviations (SD) was used to answer the research questions, while t-test was used to test the null hypotheses. Results of the study revealed that the colleges of education under study are to a great extent, complying with the established guidelines on staff recruitment among others. A major problem of human capital management in the colleges of education is political interference in the appointment of provosts which does not allow the best to emerge. It was recommended that the provosts and other principal officers of the federal and state colleges of education should strictly comply with procedures and guidelines in recruitment, training and development, and discipline practices in their respective colleges.

CONCORD ERRORS, CATEGORIES, SOLUTIONS; THE ROLE OF TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS IN THIS ERA OF YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
UMEOBI, FREDRICK .C
Abstract
Some errors are more serious than others. Both the native English user and the educated African user of English can tolerate, for example, the second language learners prepositional errors –at least-some of them, because even native users sometimes have problems with certain prepositional structures. But there are some errors like concord rule deviances which tend to elicit very unfavourable responses from both the native and non-native users alike. Such errors reflect badly on the users personality, they tell us something about his educational back ground, they portray his use of language as a developing grammar’ that borders on illiteracy. The noun verb agreement, for example, is very basic in an English sentence and it is, therefore, taught at a very early stage, the stage of the primary school. So for this type of error to persist in the use of English language teacher is a thing of concern. The language teacher graduates students who will not stand their grounds in work places, in public address situations and in society at large as far as concord is concerned.
