ABSTRACT
The objective of this paper is to explore the most common construct for forensic accounting evidence that influence financial crime deterrence and also the moderation effect of quality prosecution on forensic accounting evidence and financial crime deterrence. Questionnaires were used to collect data from 244 valid respondents by a simple random sampling method. SPSS version 18 was used for the descriptive statistics and a hierarchical regression was used for the analysis. The results of the study showed that there is a positive and weak link between forensic accounting evidence and financial crime deterrence and it also showed that quality prosecution does not moderate the relationship between forensic accounting evidence and financial crime deterrence. Consequently, anti-graft agencies and the court have to specifically focus on producing evidence that is relevant, admissible, material and also relates to the facts in issue. Finally, there should be quality prosecution punishment by anti-graft agencies for effective conviction in order achieve severe, certain, swift and proportional punishment. Hence the persistent increase in financial crimes in the federal republic of Nigeria and the world at large will be significantly reduce.

ABSTRACT
Proactive work design is a challenge to any organisation, however, operating, line, or hiring managers are mostly carried away by planning for financial, material, and other resources leaving job design to chance. Hence, Nigerian manufacturing firms have not been able to utilize job design practices to identify the number of employees the company requires in terms of high quality and quantity. This has hindered the ongoing process of regular structured planning and has created problem of inadequate right number of people to carry out the essential duties in the firm. The study, therefore examined the impact of job design on organizational performance in Nigeria using Lubcon Nigeria Limited in Ilorin Kwara State as the case study. The study considered a population of 447 workers where a sample size of 207 was arrived at using Epiinfo Statistical software. The study adopted simple random sampling technique where the major instrument was a structured closed ended questionnaire. Multiple Linear Regression was adopted to test the stated hypotheses for this study. Findings revealed that Job flexibility and job enrichment has a significant relationship with organizational profitability. This study, therefore concluded that job design through rotation, job flexibility, job integration, job enrichment significantly influence organizational performance in Nigeria. The study recommended among others that there should be training for managers and employees on organizational job design processes that are important for organizational performance.

Abstract
Leadership style and Job satisfaction of employees’ plays a crucial role in determining the general productivity of workers in any organization. The general opinion was that job satisfaction and productivity of librarians in public university libraries in Nigeria were low and a cause for concern. This study investigated the relationship between job satisfaction and productivity of librarians in Nigerian Federal universities. The federal Universities in the North-East are 6, namely: Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa University, Bauchi, Federal University Kashere Gombe, Modibo Adama University Yola, Federal university Gashuwa, Yobe, Federal University Wukari, Taraba and University of Maiduguri, Borno. A correlational survey research design was adopted. The study population consisted of 200 librarians in the university libraries in north-east Nigeria, from which 156 were selected using simple random sampling. The research instrument used was a self-developed questionnaire. The questionnaire validation was subjected to the scrutiny experts in the areas of the variables studied; it gave a reliability coefficient of 0.78 for Job Satisfaction; and 0.84 for Productivity. A response rate of 57.2% was achieved. Data were analysed using descriptive (percentage, mean, average mean and standard deviation) and inferential (Pearson Product Moment Correlation) statistics. The study revealed a significant relationship between job satisfaction and productivity (r = 0.025, P < 0.05) of librarians in Federal university libraries in north-east Nigeria. The study concluded that contrary to general belief, job satisfaction and Leadership style levels of librarians in university libraries were high. It is recommended that university library management should continue to promote values such as improved employee recognition, good leadership style and improved human capital development programmes that would increase job satisfaction and Leadership style.

ABSTRACT
In recorded history in peace time, humanity perhaps has never witnessed a period so fluid, unpredictable and with such overwhelming disruptions of socio-economic and political activities around the globe like year 2020 till now. Indeed, COVID-19 pandemic holds the world by the jugular. It caused not only major policy transformations in all spheres of life, but also created a new normal in business development articulation process and execution. Business Performance (BP) denoted by customers’ patronage (CP) and profitability (PF); now hinges on the ingenuities deployed by various organisations’ management to get them out of the woods. At this critical time, the application of various marketing strategies as tools of galvanising small and medium-scaled enterprises (SMEs) to escalate CP and PF appears incomplete without entrepreneurial marketing (EM) proxied by innovativeness (INN) and proactiveness (PRA). This study was therefore conducted to assess the impact of INN and PRA on CP and PF on SMEs in North-Central Nigeria. With population of 2249 and sample size of 343 going by yaro yamani formula; copies of structured questionnaire were administered as tools of data collection. Standard multiple regression was deployed as method of analysis. Findings on INN showed that (β=.292, t= 5.107. R= .877, R2= .769, p<.000); and similarly, PRAC showed that (β=.334, t= 5.956. R=.891, R2=.741, p<.000). These implied that both INN and PRAC have significant impact on CP and PF respectively. The study therefore concluded that INN and PRA are major escalators of SMEs’ CP and PF. It recommended that in the turbulent times of today that is characterised with COVID-19 pandemic, SMEs should fully embrace innovativeness and proactiveness as the thrust of their marketing efforts to achieve significant notches on their customers’ patronage and profitability.

ABSTRACT
The paper focused on entrepreneurial marketing and product development with the intention to determine the effects of post brand experience and performance on subsequent new brand acceptance. The overall objective was to evaluate the effect of brand experience on consumer “intention to purchase attitude” towards acceptance of new products in the market. The study adopted the field studies research design, which invariably combines variants of both exploratory and explanatory designs. The Delphi technique, a variant of the panel design was particularly used to effect participation and product testing by test –takers (respondents) in order to effect a comparative analyses to generate primary data for testing hypothesis. Consumer preferences and acceptance of a new product was evaluated with an effective method of product testing (Round Robin test) in a panel of test takers. The questionnaire questions evaluated the test product on a 5-point scale and the t-test, multiple regression and ANOVA test statistic were adopted for analyses. The stratification sampling design was considered necessary to ensure good sample representative and increased desired statistical precision. The study revealed that the critical dimensions of product development which will ensure acceptance of new products are the products potential performance variables which consist of those intrinsic attribute of the product that are capable of creating satisfaction and subsequently, utility to the consumer. Among others, the study recommended that consumer acceptance of new product should always be subjected to comparing the new brand or product performance (both sensory effects and long term effects) against similar parameters of the market leader. Similarly, entrepreneurs as a matter of importance should undertake research to understand the needs and wants of consumers before developing or modifying the existing ones.

Abstract
Industrialization has been seen as an engine of economic growth. It has been the success story of emerging economies, especially the Asian tigers. However, Nigeria has not been able to join the league of her contemporary in this regard. This paper therefore, examines the long run relationship between indusrialisation and economic growth in Nigeria between 1981 and 2015; with the application of the co-integration approach known as Autoregressive Distributed Lag Model (ARDL). The theoretical underpinning of the study is the extended Solow neoclassical growth model (Cole and Ohanian, 2004; Charie et al, 2007; Herrendorf et al (2013). The model takes into account two sector growth approach that is used extensively in the growth literature to study structural transformation. Our study expands knowledge as it incorporates variables (public debts and exchange rate) in the estimated model, however, they are excluded in past studies. The empirical results of the study confirm our expectations and indicate that a long run relationship exists between industrialization and economic growth in Nigeria. Equivocally, going by experiences of other emerging economies, especially; the Asian Tigers, Nigeria will in no time get out of her doldrums; if she tolls rigorously the path of indusrialisation, as panacea to economic growth.

Abstract
The significance of keeping proper books of accounts and sound accounting practices has been stressed in ensuring proper financial management in SMEs. In this study, we investigate the record keeping practices utilized by SMEs in six north eastern states of Nigeria, through data based on responses to a structured questionnaire from 270 SMEs in the region. We report that majority of SMEs fail to maintain complete accounting records as they think there is no need to keep accounting records and that it exposes their financial position, it was equally reported that, there was a strong positive relationship between joint influence of Accounting record keeping practices and the performance of SMEs in North Eastern Nigeria. It was then recommended that training programs must be organized to sensitize owners/managers on the need to maintain proper books of accounts. The government should also come out with the necessary legal instruments to make the preparation of proper books of accounts mandatory in order to improve accounting record keeping practices among SMEs in the region and Nigeria at large. Multiple Regression Analysis was used to analyze the data collected from the respondents with help of SPSS statistical package.

Abstract
Working Capital Management has an intervening effect on a firm’s growth and performance. However, it is expected that an efficient working capital management practice might have a profound effect on the profitability of small enterprises, since a substantial proportion of the total assets of small and medium firms is constituted of the current assets and a sizeable fraction of their total liabilities is consisted of the current liabilities. Therefore the current study is focusing on examine the impact of working capital management practice on the profitability of SME’s operating in the North-East, Nigeria. A region devastated from Boko Haram insurgency as a result of high rate of unemployed youth. However, as a survey study the analyses was based on the questionnaire distributed to the operating SMEs under Technology Incubation Centre. The study employed descriptive statistics, correlation and one-way ANOVA on response from managers and accountant of the SMEs. The results showed that WCM practice significantly influence firms’ profitability. However, the results indicate that firms, especially SMEs should endeavor to set target levels for inventory, receivables, payables and cash conversion cycle in order to maximise profitability.

ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EXPORT MARKET ORIENTATION AND FIRM EXPORT PERFORMANCE IN NIGERIA: A Conceptual Perspective
BELLO KASIM SANUSI
Dept. of Business Administration and Management, Federal Polytechnic Bali, Taraba Nigeria
Abstract
The globalization of goods and services, as well as the internationalization of firms has increasingly emphasized the importance of export performance over a period of time. However, the imperative importance of export performance to firm’s internationalization has led to a considerable body of research that has focused more directly upon export performance and this laid to the evolvement of the export market orientation as substitute construct of studying export performance in recent decades. Although there is evidence of the relationship between export market orientation and export performance in the developed world, yet such relationship is not known in the African context especially Nigeria and thus Nigerian firms are yet to explore the importance of exporting their products to the global markets, which is not favoring the country balance of trade. Consequently, this paper aims to examine this relationship conceptually by setting some prepositions to hypothesize the relationship between the export market orientations dimensions and firm export performance in Nigerian context. The study, however, concludes that there is positive relationship between export market orientation and export performance of Nigerian firms as evidence by some studies conducted in other countries. The study finally opened up an avenue for future research effort to validate the proposed relationships using empirical data.

Abstract
The study aims at examining the nature of the continued relevance of traditional rulers in contemporary Nigerian politics. In spite of the negative impacts of colonialism and westernization on the institutions in pre-colonial period, traditional rulers occupied important position of political authority in African kingdom. The traditional rulers have served as important adjuncts in the administration of post-colonial government in both Nigeria and Africa. Towards the last years of colonial rule, there was a shift from the traditional rulers of the educated elites who eventually succeeded in achieving political independence for the country. This research is of the view that traditional rulers as the custodian of the customs and traditions of their respective areas should be given opportunities on a basis of recommending some of their experiences to the service as members of customary courts; also, traditional rulers have to adopt the spirit of yearly dialogue amongst the subjects; the outcome of the yearly dialogue will create necessary relationship towards community development prgramme.

Abstract
The sorption isotherms of cocoyam (taro; colocasia esculenta) pellets were determined experimentally using the static gravimetric method at 30 oC, 40 oC, 50 oC and 60 oC for water activity ranging from 0.113 – 0.970. The equilibrium moisture content increased with increasing water activity at a given temperature and decreased with increase in temperature. The experimentally obtained data were used to evaluate the suitability of Brunaeur-Emmet-Teller (BET), Guggenheim-Anderson-de Boer (GAB) and Oswin models. The models’ parameters were computed using an iterative nonlinear regression technique. The experimental data were also fitted to an empirical model using multiple regression analysis and the results were compared. Monolayer moisture content was determined from BET and GAB models, the experimental values were consistent in their relationship but differ when compared with other starchy food materials. The sorption isotherm curves obtained were sigmoidal (typical type II isotherm) and the results demonstrated that the three models adequately predicted the equilibrium moisture content of cocoyam. At the end of the analysis, it was observed that the BET and Oswin model best describe the adsorption moisture isotherm at 30 oC, 40 oC and 50 oC respectively.

ABSTRACT
This study represents an attempt to understand the trend in the expansion of Uyo urban centre, Akwa Ibom State. The objective of the study included; taking inventory of the land use/cover of the study area; assessment of the trend, rate, and nature of urban expansion in the study area over the periods 1986/2003 and 2003/2008. In order to achieve these objectives, remotely sensed data of LandSat TM 1986, LandSat TM 2003, and NigeriaSat 2008 of the study area were used. The minimum distance supervised classification algorithm and post classification change detection techniques in GIS were carried out on the remotely sensed data. The study revealed that between 1986 and 2003 built-up area increased from 149.09km2 to 172.21km2 at the rate of 1.36km2 per annum; and between 2003 and 2008 built-up area increased to 207.10km2 at the rate of 6.98km2 per annum. Based on these findings, the study recommended that urban planning should not be limited to analogue master plans, but should be a dynamic and modifiable system which would make modifications speedy and more functional. More so, Local Planning Authorities should restrict development in strategic areas within the heart of the town in order to maintain some green belts within the capital city. This, apart from moderating the urban temperature, also enhances the urban character of the capital city.

ABSTRACT
The position of a Company Secretary has developed with company practice in Nigeria from a mere servant whose functions ware prima facie clerical and ministerial only to that which is equivalent to that of a director in the company with extensive powers and responsibilities. This appears not only in modern companies Act, but also by the role which he plays in the day to day business of the company.
