Abstract
This study assessed the relationship between self-concept and academic achievement of in-school adolescents in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria. The study adopted a cross sectional survey research design. The study participants comprised of 400 respondents; 172 (43%) were male while 228 (57%) were female. 177 (44.3%) were from private secondary schools and 223 (55.7%) were from public secondary schools. Primary data was obtained using questionnaire titled: “Self-Concept and Academic Achievement Questionnaire (SCAAQ). The reliability of the instrument was ascertained through the Cronbach alpha coefficient with all the items scoring 0.64. Five hypotheses were generated with the first tested with Pearson r, while the remaining hypotheses (2-5) were tested with t-test statistics. The findings of this study revealed, among others, that there is a significant relationship between self-concept and academic achievement of the in-school adolescents. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended, among others, that measures such as “rating scales, checklists, q-sorts and free-response method” should be put in place to check the poor self-concept and academic achievement of students in both private and public secondary schools so that it does not spell doom for the schools and lead to fewer intellectual students and low turnout of qualified manpower into the labour market.

ABSTRACT
Solid waste storage and primary collection should be expected to vary with different socio-economic characteristics due to many environmental and social factors. This paper reports the assessment of solid waste storage and primary collection practice based on four socioeconomic characteristics of respondents; education, occupation, income of the household head and household size. A questionnaire survey was conducted in the study area to 200 households by systematic random sampling technique to identify the four socioeconomic characteristics that may affect solid waste storage and primary collection practice at household level. Multiple linear regressions analysis was used via SPSS 25.0 to determine the impact of socio economic characteristics on solid waste storage and primary collection practice. Through this analysis the impact of a multiple independent variables (household size, educational level, occupation and income) on the dependent variable (solid waste storage and primary collection practice) was explored as well as the impact of each independent variable on the dependent variable. The study found that there is high positive correlation (R = 96.8%, R2 = 93.6% and AR = 93.5%) between solid waste storage and primary collection from households which is the dependent variable and the four socio economic characteristics which are the independent variable. Educational level has a negative coefficient (-0.167) even though there is significant relationship between educational level and solid waste storage and primary collection (p<0.05) while the income of the respondent has the highest impact (0.625). There is generally a significant relationship between the dependent and independent variables (p = 0.01 – 0.00). Recommendations for considerations of income and household size in management of solid waste storage and primary collection system were given.

Abstract
The promotion of indigenous development innovations is one of the conditions that facilitate socio-economic and political development of rural communities across the world. The effective communication of such community-based innovations makes the mass media a critical partner in the development process. This study investigated the promotion of indigenous development innovations in rural Bayelsa by journalists in the State. The objectives of the study were to: identify some indigenous development innovations that require effective coverage and reportage by journalists in Bayelsa State; evaluate the extent journalists in Bayelsa State cover and report rural development innovations in the State; and to investigate the challenges of reporting rural development innovations in rural areas of Bayelsa State. The study was anchored on the Development Media theory. The study used the descriptive survey research design to undertake a census of the 320 registered journalists in Bayelsa State. Findings of the study showed that rural development innovations were significantly under-reported by journalists in Bayelsa State. The study also found out that one of the factors that hinder effective coverage of community development innovations by journalists in Bayelsa State was ownership interests. Based on these findings, the study recommended, among other things, that the ownership of media stations in Bayelsa State should put public interest above personal or parochial concerns and that Civil Society organisations and media rights groups in Bayelsa State should make concerted effort towards clamoring for extensive rural community reporting.

Abstract
This review the crude oil spill remediation Management in the Niger Delta, Nigeria: Prospects and challenges. In the Niger Delta, there is pervasive poverty and despicable environmental damage as a result of crude oil mining activities going on in this region. This review identifies the constraints to effective implementation of Nigeria’s environmental laws and policies especially the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) as it concerns oil prospecting, which has hitherto contributed in hindering her environmental sustainability. From the review, it appears obvious that the issue of environmentally friendly sustainable development cannot be overlooked if the Niger Delta Region is to meet its development challenges. In the near further, the region will have depleted most of its resources and will be hindered from performing its life-sustaining functions. This review will direct policy makers, community groups and development partners and every Niger Delta’s alive today on what to do about environment. I believe that if Niger Delta is to meet these environmental challenges, it must take action at all levels. It has to incorporate global, national and community actions. It must also involve civil society, public agencies and the private sector in development programs to help mitigate environmental problems. However, often times Nigerian governments lack the capacity to implement these agreements or honor the commitments therein.

ABSTRACT
While the effect of varying a single element of a technological matrix on the gross productions of four demand elements may be considered as a popular linear algebra solution approach, the inclusion of varying an element of the technological matrix that is perturb by random economic investment on the gross productions of agriculture, steel, coal and Iron can be considered as a challenging numerical mathematics application in the theory of inter-dependence of some Nigerian industries. To tackle this sophisticated sustainable problem, we have utilized a MATLAB algorithm that we have not seen elsewhere to tackle this problem. The full novel results of this study are fully presented and discussed in this paper.

Abstract
It is the claim of this paper that despite the Victim support fund, the Presidential intervention package, the Safe School initiative etc., Boko Haram has consistently unleashing a theater of blood bath and mayhem in the north east Nigeria that is characterized by massive Loss, grief and other social problems considered to be complex, hard to solve, a product of interlocking issues, and hard to understand to the extent that finding solution to the problem in the east, seems to have no stopping rule, or criteria upon which to determine “solving. This crisis impacts on survivors as much as they face to dangers in their lives. Thus, most of them need to be supported until they can solve their problems, be relaxed and do their daily activities. The problem is that, all of these laudable efforts are devoid of social case workers as central coordinating partners. Profession of social workers is to assist individuals who are seeking help. What comes to bear is how to efficiently help the clients especially, those traumatize and suffer from post trauma stress disorders and other economic problems since all there lively hood seems to varnish overnight. Clients who have suffered from this terror therefore need special care. Generally, the role of social workers in helping the individual in situation is significant. To this end, the present paper tries to describe the process of social casework and those skills required for social workers to help the survivors. These skills include: situational supporting, hopefulness making, consoling, assuring, concentrating, solutions developing and referral. The paper revealed the need to theoretically contextualize the case work skills in other to have sustainable outcomes as a way out for the north eastern states in Nigeria.

Abstract
This study examines the roles of religion, region/ethnicity and gender in the composition of editorial boards of selected Nigerian newspapers with “national” spread. Using the theoretical foundations of the Gatekeeping theory, it deconstructs the classification of some newspapers as national newspapers through the instrumentality of the qualitative approach to the Content Analysis method. It asserts that ethnic, regional and religious motives take primacy over national interest in the establishment and operation of newspaper organizations in Nigeria. The findings of the research shows that women are seriously underrepresented on the editorial boards of the newspapers under consideration for this study. The study calls for the multiplicity of gender, ethnicity, and ideological/political orientation on the editorial boards of Nigerian newspapers.

ABSTRACT
Under any democratic dispensation, the citizenry is given the inalienable right to, through an established procedure, contest or vote for their representatives who will stir the wheel of their government, as their leaders for a prescribed period of time. This process of political participation is so germane under a democratic government, to the extent that the will and aspiration of the people can better be realized by bringing on board capable people who will handle the affairs of government and take the people as a whole to the next level in terms of positive development. However, as important as the exercise of this right may seem to be, some Nigerians are denied such right intentionally or otherwise and their fate is been left to the hands of few to decide. This paper has ex-rayed the constitutional right of franchise; the effect Internal Displacement has on the enjoyment and exercise of this right, more particularly on the people displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency in the North Eastern Nigeria; the legal regime on ground to protect this right and at the end a way out has been suggested in form of recommendation. This research will be adopting a doctrinal approach with both domestic and international laws (Instruments, conventions and protocols) as the primary data and the works of reknown authors in scholarly journals, books and conferences as secondary data.

Abstract
The numerous clamours for satisfaction and value-for-money can be a proxy indicator for the need for improved service delivery of National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to patients. It is therefore the objective of this study to evaluate the extent of compliant with the implementation guideline of NHIS in service delivery to staff of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida Medical Centre who chose the centre as their primary service provider. Descriptive research design was adopted while qualitative data with questionnaire and structured interview from selected respondents were used. Respondents were drawn from patients that visited the medical Centre as well as staff of the Centre. The NHIS Desk Officer of the medical Centre was also interviewed with a view to eliciting purposeful information to aid the study. A sample of one hundred and fifty responses was examined with simple random sampling method. Findings indicated that patients in many cases do not get expensive drugs prescribed to them hence; they resort to buying them from outside pharmacies. The study showed that the overall patients satisfaction with the services provided as far as NHIS implementation is concerned is fair but more can still be done to achieve satisfaction especially, in the aspect of drugs administration and operational coverage. It is recommended that there is need for the medical centre to partner with reputable pharmacy(s) in the town to where patients can be referred whenever the Centre is out of supply of drugs instead of out rightly asking them to purchase on their own.

Abstract
This study was designed to examine the impact of physical and social environment on learning process. Psychologist, for instance, “placed the Centre of gravity” of learning process on the environment. In their opinion, method of education is characterized by the central importance that we attribute to the question of environment, according to the saying of psychologist; they attributed feeblemindedness to the dullest of the senses which is due to the poor environment. If conducive environment is created, the dullest child can perform as excellently as any other brilliant child, they argued. In order to facilitate understanding, researcher’s discussion will be classified into two broad categories: The impact of physical environment, and the impact of social environment on learning process. Investigation has revealed the strong correlation between physical facilities such as classrooms, sitting-arrangement laboratories, writing-materials and the learning process, quality of education that children receive bears direct relevance to the availability or lack of physical facilities and the overall atmosphere in which learning takes place. This is the major reasons why this write-up is being undertaken to look into and expose the impact of physical/social environment which may have implication for children academic achievement. Abstract
The study examines and seeks to assess the institutional capacity building for effective entrepreneurship development in Nigeria. In order to establish specific factors and challenges of the tertiary institution capacity building, descriptive and inferential statistical methods were employed. Data were collected from existing records and findings of opinion on the subject matter through the use of structured questionnaire. Stratified sampling technique was used to select the 235 respondents for the study. The population for the study comprised staff and students of Federal, State and Private Universities in South-West Zone of Nigeria. Out of 235 contacted 205 staff and students responded to the questionnaire for the study. The internal consistency of the questionnaire was determined using Cronbach Alpha. Data obtained were analyzed using mean, frequency count, percentages and one-way analysis of variance. The study reveals that out of the ninety (90) Universities and a total of One hundred and fifty two (152) tertiary institutions (Federal, State and Private) only one has a full Department of Entrepreneurship preparing students for B.Sc degree in Entrepreneurship. This department is domiciled in the College of Management Sciences while a few were basically focused on small business development, administration and management. Also observed was the capacity inadequacy in both the public and private sector for entrepreneurship education development and the need to restore quality teaching and research in the institutions. The study recommends that both public and private sectors must be involved in strengthening and building up effectively adequate capacity in all critical areas to ensure entrepreneurship development.
